Twins Camp 2025 Final Update! – Important Information

DoubleTree by Hilton is “New & Improved”!

An outside view of the DoubleTree by Hilton – Ft Myers.

Twins Campers arriving in January will experience an entirely different  look to the facility that has been the Twins Camp hotel headquarters since 2013.  Last year, the former Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Bell Tower Shops transitioned to the DoubleTree by Hilton just prior to the start of Twins Camp. As a part of this transition the hotel has been going through some extensive remodeling to many of the common areas of the property.

Perhaps the one location that sees more action than the batting cages at the clubhouse, might very well be Shoe-less Joe’s at the DoubleTree.  Joe’s has also received a face lift and we’re confident you’re going to love the new digs!

A trio of photos of the new bar and seating area at Joe’s.  You won’t ever be in an area without a view of a television.

The outside seating at Joe’s also has a new look and feel to it, with new furniture and a new feel.

We are also pleased that the ballroom area has also been totally redecorated too.  The room has a clean look that we’re also confident that our campers will appreciate.

We have also been advised that the pool at the DoubleTree is scheduled for resurfacing.  The work is scheduled to begin on January 2nd, and will take 4-6 weeks to complete.  There is a chance that this work might be delayed.  In any event, Campers staying at the DoubleTree are invited to use the pool facilities at their sister property at the Homewood Suites, directly across the street from the DoubleTree.

Twins Camp To Feature A Luau in 2025!

Thanks to combined efforts of the ten campers that will be celebrating their Hall of Fame Camp in 2025, Wednesday evening’s Hall of Fame Celebration will include a Luau party of sorts.  The guys put their heads together and came up with the idea of doing a hog roast to celebrate their big night.

We’ll also be providing complimentary keg beer to help with the celebration.

We were able to find a caterer that roasts whole hogs and he’ll be roasting the pig right there in the DoubleTree parking lot prior to event.  So if you have one in the closet, pack your Hawaiian print shirt and be ready to wear it to this year’s Hall of Fame banquet.

Special Thanks to the Hall of Fame Class of 2025.  They are: Mark Besser, Rick Bruce, John Green, Ben Kepple, Steve Kluvers, Scott Morvig, Dave Roiger, Tim Salter, Gerry Seurer and Tim Vernon.  Many Thanks Gentlemen!

IMPORTANT

REMINDER!!

Twins Camp 2025 is Rapidly Approaching!

A quick reminder to all of our veteran campers to bring your current uniform with you to camp.

We have also been asked by some members of our 2025 rookie class, about what they need to pack.  If you attended the reunion game this past September, you were provided a fitted hat, socks and a belt. You will need to bring those items with you to Ft Myers.

You’ll need to bring your glove, cleats (steel or molded are fine), a protective cup (if you wear one), and any garments you wear under your uniform (T-Shirts, compression shorts, jock strap, etc.)

We’ve also received questions as to which former players will be on this year’s Pro Staff.  They include: Bert Blyleven,Tony Oliva, Kent Hrbek, Frank Viola, Ron Gardenhire, Jeff Reardon, Tim Laudner, Tom Brunansky, Glen Perkins, Al Newman, Gene Larkin, Juan Berenguer, Jacque Jones, Matt LeCroy, JC Romero, Juan Rincon, Toby Gardenhire, Phil Roof, Tommy Watkins, Devin Smeltzer, Dick Stigman, Stu Cliburn, Milt Cuyler, Brian Dinkelman, Stan Cliburn and Matt Guerrier.  We’re happy to add that Twins TV voice for years, Dick Bremer, is back again in 2025!

Dress for the evening banquet is casual, with the exception of the final Saturday night Award Banquet where we recommend business casual as we’ll be taking pictures.

Registration for this year’s camp will begin at 3:00 PM at the DoubleTree.  Looking forward to seeing you there!

Banquet Details for the 2025 Twins Camp

The 2025 Twins Camp is on pace to be our largest camp ever.  That will create potential issues for our five evening banquet events.  We’re thrilled that 4 of the 5 will be held in the Main Ball Room this year (our final night will be in the pavillion tent outdoors).  But adequate seating will continue to be a challenge.

We’re again asking for your cooperation in limiting attendance to campers and a single guest (spouse, significant other or other family member).

We have never viewed the banquets or meal occasions as a profit center, but as you know from your own experiences in dining out – costs have risen.  We are charged by the number of chairs that we fill and that cost this year $40 for the first 4 buffet banquets and $50 for the final night’s, plated banquet.  Breakfast and lunches will continue to $10 per meal for non-campers.  It will help us if you can consider what meals your guests will attend and be prepared to pay for those meals at registration.  We can take credit card info, but your check or cash are greatly appreciated.

Thank You in advance for your assistance!
