Camp Staff Members Honored!
Dick Bremer Recognized for His 40 Years of Twins Baseball Broadcast Excellence!
Brian Dinkelman is Baseball’s Minor League Manager of the Year for 2023!
We love to say that it’s a beautiful thing when great things happen for great people. So it is for two of the camp’s own as they were recently recognized at the kick-off to the 2024 baseball season. Opening Day at Target Field for the 2024 Minnesota Twins, the 40 year voice of Twins television broadcasts, Dick Bremer was honored. Further south in Cedar Rapids, IA, during the Opening Day events for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, Kernels Manager, Brian Dinkelman was celebrated on his being named Minor League Manager of the Year by Baseball America. Dink was also recognized for skippering his Kernels to the 2023 Midwest League Championship.
Dick Bremer
For fans across Twins Territory, from April to October, Dick Bremer was a welcomed member of the household for those three hours of Twins games. Dick announced his retirement from the broadcast booth last fall and now serves as a liaison for the club. The Twins used the occasion of their Opening Day festivities to recognize and honor Dick for his years behind the microphone, by naming the television broadcast booth at Target Field the “Dick Bremer TV Booth”. In a pregame ceremony, Dick was joined by wife Heidi, son Erik and daughter Hannah, as the Twins executive committee unveiled the new signage designating the now “Bremer Booth”.
Dick has been a regular at the Twins Fantasy Camp for over two decades. A Minnesota native, Dick’s knowledge of Twins history is unparalleled and was evident during his 40 year broadcast career with the Twins. That historical perspective was also on display at Twins Camp where Dick would introduce our Pro Staff on the opening night of camp. With each introduction, he would provide a thumbnail biography on each of our Pro Staff members and their contribution to Twins baseball. Dick was also one of the camp’s standout pitchers each year and an early draft choice at Sunday’s annual camper draft.
As an avid Twins fan myself, this author would like to speak for the camp family and Twins fans everywhere in thanking you for making Twins Baseball the pleasure that it was for those years that you described the action. Thank you Dick!

Dick shows off the form that is familiar to Twins Fantasy Campers as he throws out the first pitch at the 2024 Home Opener vs. the Cleveland Guardians.

The receiver for Dick’s first pitch was Twins Legend and 2024 Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, Joe Mauer!
Brian Dinkelman
The newest member of the Twins Fantasy Camp Pro Staff, Brian Dinkelman was also recognized at Opening Day events in Cedar Rapids. Brian, was drafted in the 8th round of the 2006 MLB draft and is a former second baseman for the Twins. After his career as a player concluded in 2013 following a hand injury, Brian returned to the Twins to work in their Minor League operation. Following three seasons of serving as the hitting coach for the Kernels, Brian was named the Cedar Rapids Kernels Skipper in 2019.
Brian was recognized by Baseball America as their selection of the Minor League Manager of the Year. That honor is given to one manager, across all of Minor League Baseball. An incredible accomplishment. On behalf of the Kernels, Brian also accepted the Midwest League’s Championship trophy for the 2023 Cedar Rapids Kernels.

The entire Twins Camp family joins us in congratulating both Dick & Brian on their well deserved recognition! Well done Gentlemen!
