Scott Erickson was drafted by the Twins in the 4th round of the amateur draft out of the University of Arizona by the Twins in 1989.  He rose to the Major Leagues in just his second year of professional baseball when he was called up from the Twins AA affiliate in Orlando.  He finished the 1990 season with 5 wins in the month of September and tie the Oakland A's star pitcher, Dave Stewart for the American League Pitcher of the Month.  Erickson was the first pitcher since 1954, to win 20 games in his first full season in the majors.  During the 1991 World Series run, Scott finished in the top 10 for the American League Most Valuable Player Award.  On April 27, 1994, he no-hit the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-0 in the first no-hitter ever thrown in the Metrodome.  He became just the third Twins pitcher to throw a no-hitter in a home game, following Jack Kralick in 1962 and Dean Chance in 1967, both of whom tossed their no-hitters at the old Met Stadium.  Many believed it virtually impossible to throw a no-hitter inside the Dome with it's lively turf and homerun reputation.  Scott was a ground ball pitcher adn 5 times he led the American League in induced double play balls in a season, and is in the top five in baseball history for his ground ball to fly out ratio.  Scott joined the Twins Camp's Pro Staff in 2018.
