Toby Gardenhire

Toby Gardenhire was drafted by the Twins in the 41st round of the 2005 Major League draft.  He played in the Twins farm system for 2007 to 2011.  In 2012 he left professional baseball to assume the head coaching job for the University of Wisconsin at Stout’s baseball program.  In 2013 he played with the German team in the World Baseball Classic.  He was eligible to play with the Germans since his father, Twins Managing Legend, Ron Gardenhire had been born in Germany.  In 2017 Toby returned to the Twins and professional baseball as the third base coach for the organization’s AAA farm team in Rochester, New York.  In 2018, he was named as Manager for the Twins A affiliate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he led the Kernels to the playoffs.  In 2019 he was named the manager of the Twins High A team, the Ft Myers Miracle and in 2020 was named as the manager for the Twins AAA affiliate – the Rochester Red Wings. Toby made his Twins Camp appearance at the 2020 Twins Camp.  Welcome Toby!
