Stan Cliburn

Stan Cliburn was drafted in the 5th round of the 1974 MLB draft by the California Angels and played one year in the Major Leagues as a catcher with the Angels. That season he appeared in 54 games, following a minor league career that included 948 games in a 14 year professional playing career. Stan has made baseball his life as a career coach and manger. His first 12 years with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, the Texas Rangers and the Arlington Aces – an independent league team in the Texas-Louisiana League. He worked with the Minnesota Twins minor league system from 2001 through 2008. For six of those seasons he with his twin brother, Stu Cliburn. Stan continued to manage independent leagues with the Sioux City Explorers, New Britain Bees and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. In 2024 he celebrated his 200th win as a manger.
