Brian Dinkelman – Infield

Brian Dinkelman was drafted in the 8th round of the 2006 MLB draft out of McKendree College of Lebanon, IL. As a McKendree Bearcat, Brian wont the American Midwest Conference Player of the Year award from 2004 – 2006. In 2006, he was also named the National Association of Intercollegiate Sports (NIAI) player of the year.

In his first year of professional baseball, Brian played with the Eliazbethan Twins of the rookie Appalachian League where he played in 46 games and logged a .298 batting average, with 4 home runs and 32 runs batted in. In 2007, he was selected to play in the Western Division of the Midwest League’s All-Star game, representing the Beloit Snappers.

Dinkelman continued to climb through the Twins minor league system and from May 1-7, 2009, was named the Twins minor league player of the week. He was named to his third consecutive All-Star team after batting .299 with four home runs and 43 RBI in the first half of the season. He made his MLB debut on June 4, 2011, with the Twins. A hand injury in 2012 shortened his season and career. Brian served as the hitting coach for the Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2016, 2017, and 2018. In 2019, he was named as the Twins Class A affiliate in Cedar Rapids. In 2024 he was named as the manager of the Twins AA affiliate in Wichita, KS, the Witchita Surge.
