The "Terminator" Joins the Twins Pro Staff for 2017!

The Twins Fantasy Camp is thrilled to announce the addition of Twins legendary closer, Jeff Reardon to it's 2017 Pro Staff.  Jeff is a Dalton, MA, native who was originally drafted by the Mets in the 23rd round of the 1973 MLB amateur draft.  He elected to complete his college career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst before signing a minor league deal with the Mets in 1977.  He quickly made his way through the Mets minor league organization and made his Major League debut on August 25, 1979.  He would remain in the big leagues for the remainder of his professional career.  He pitched in a middle relief role for the Mets until midway through the 1981 season when he was traded to the Montreal Expos.  The Ex's wasted no time in moving him directly to the closer role in their bullpen and it was in Montreal that Jeff would earn the nickname "The Terminator".  As and Expo, Jeff was twice named to the NL All-Star team (1985 & 1986) and was named earned the coveted Rolaids Relief Man of the Year Award for his 1985 performance.

In the magical year of 1987, he was traded to the Twins where he was instrumental in helping himself and the organization to their first World Championship rings! In 1988 he was named to the AL All-Star team and in 1989, he became the first pitcher in Major League history to record 40+ save seasons in both the National and American Leagues.  Jeff signed as a free agent with the Boston Red Sox in 1990 and as a Red Sock, was named to another American League All-Star team in 1991.  In 1992 he became a member of a solid Atlanta Braves team and pitched in his second World Series that season.  Prior to his retirement in 1994, Jeff was also a member of the Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees.

Welcome to the camp family Jeff!  We look forward to sharing camp week with you!
