Dick is a native Minnesotan and was born in St. Paul. He grew up in Staples, Minnesota and following graduation from high school, attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota, where he earned his degree in broadcasting and communications. He started his career covering the Twins with Sepctrum Sports and this season marked his 25th year of covering Twins Baseball. While working as the play-by-play announcer for the Twins, Dick has been privileged to work with former baseball greats that include Harmon Killebrew, Jim Kaat, Frank Quilici, Gene Larkin, Al Newman, Rod Carew, Tommy John and his current broadcast partner, Bert Blyleven. In addition to his work with the Twins, Dick has also broadcast games for the University of Minnesota basketball and hockey teams, Big Ten Basketball, Minnesota North Star Hockey, Minnesota Vikings Pre-season Football, the Minnesota Prep Bowl, as well as Minnesota boys and girls state high school basketball tournaments.
