Ron "Coom Dog" Coomer made his major league debut with the Minnesota Twins on August 1, 1995. Ron played in what many consider to be among the "leanest" years in Twins history. He provided veteran leadership to a young , talented group of players such as Torii Hunter, Michael Cuddyer, A.J. Persynski and Jacques Jones that would eventually dominate the American League Central Division in the mid 2000's. Coomer provided a consistent bat and slugging percentage to the Twins in the late 90's. In 1999 he was named to the American League All-Star squad. Coom ended his career in 2003 with the Los Angeles Dodgers with a life time MLB batting average of .274, with 827 hits and 92 homeruns. Ron now serves as an analyst for FSN on the Twins television pre-game and post game broadcasts.
