Matt LeCroy is a South Carolina native and attended college at Clemson University. While at Clemson he was named to the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team and helped them to a Bronze medal that year. In 1997 he was drafted in the first round as catcher by the Minnesota Twins, the 50th overall pick that year. Matt was a prolific power hitter while in the minor leagues, hitting 101 home runs during his five year in the Twins minor league system. He made his MLB debut on April 3, 2000. He shared time that season between the Major League team and the Twins AAA affiliate, playing first base, catcher and designated hitter. His best season in the big leagues came in 2003 when he hit for a .287 average, with 17 home runs and 64 RBI in 107 games. Matt currently works as Manager of the Washington Nationals AA affiliate - the Harrisburg Senators.
