Frank
Quilici

Frank "Guido" Quilici played his way into the hearts of Twins fans in the late summer of 1965. As a late season call-up, Frank stepped into the second base position for the Twins as they made their drive for their first American League Pennant in 1965. That fall they would face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series and Frank would very quickly carve out a spot in Twins history. In game #1 with the Dodgers, Frank made the baseball record books , when, in the third inning he singled and doubled off the Dodger's Don Drysdale, tying the World Series record for most hits in an inning. Frank became a key utility player for the club playing virtually every infield position during their successful 1967, 1969 and 1970 seasons.

In 1971 the baseball savvy Quilici became a coach for the Twins and in 1972 Calvin Griffith named Frank as the new manager of the club. Frank managed the Twins thru 1975 compiling a record of 280-287 (494).
