Like fellow Camp Pro Staff member Dick Stigman, Dave Goltz is also a Minnesota native. Dave was born in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota on June 23, 1949. The right-hander enjoyed a 12 year career in the Majors, 8 of them as Minnesota Twin. He made his MLB bebut for the Twins on July 18, 1972.
Over the course of his career Dave posted a 113-109 record with an impressive 3.69 career ERA and collected 1,105 strikeouts. In 1977 he became one of a handful of Twins pitchers to post a 20 game winning season.
Following his stint with the Twins, Dave played three years with the Los Angeles Dodgers and was a member of the 1981 World Series Championship team. He made his final appearance in the Big Leagues with the California Angels on June 22, 1983.
